Our story

My name is Jennifer Hendricks, Owner and Creator of Breathe By Gigi. Gigi is what my grandkids, nieces and nephews call me, I am still too young for the "Grandma" title lol. Breathe by Gigi was started in 2021 after a trip to one of my favorite places, a home away from home to me, Puerto Rico. What started as a trip to gain insight and information to possibly relocate to this beautiful island. It instead turned into a trip at the height of Covid, that allowed for me to evaluate my life, everything that was happening around me and all that we actually tend to take for granted. I was looking for a purpose, a passion, something more than the day to day grind. Something that I could call my own and take pride in, that I could always creatively escape to. I wanted to create something that combined all the things that truly put a smile on my face, bring me joy, peace, calm & laughter. These elements help me to Breathe Beauty into my life and my Home.

Working as a Lab Courier amidst this pandemic, breathing was shown to be one of those things we appreciate more now than ever. We couldn't wait to clock out of work, rip off our mask and inhale that first breath of fresh air! The highlight of the day, had now become a life changing part of the day.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have always been a fragrance enthusiast. Whether it’s my lotions, candles or home fragrance, that was something I always loved and took pride in. Having unique, fresh and elevated fragrances that aren't your everyday, basic scents. So I decided to create my own business with products that I loved and had some skill in making by hand, which began with candles. Creating names reminiscent of memorable music, places of travel, nostalgic aromas and loved ones in my life. I wanted to add luxury and ambiance to it all, so as you spark up a flame to light the candles, you hear the slight sound of the crackling wood wick casting a flickering warm glow throughout the glass. Allowing those bold, rounded, beautiful scents to fill your space.
